Military vehicles prevented the return of Honduras president Manuel Zelaya's airplane from landing on the runaway today. The right conspirators knew their coup will be up by the people once the president has returned to his people and country. If George W Bush was still president I would be convinced the U S was involved. Violence is spreading as huge crowds converge and protest this total disregard for democracy by Roberto Micheletti and his rat pack army cronies.
Daniel Ortega and Hugo Chavez are backing the cause of President Zelaya and demanding the OAS do something to resolve this situation. These two leaders know there are plenty of American backed groups in their countries who would love to repeat this takeover process in order to serve the interest of big business. People in Latin America will no longer tolerate these coups that destroy all vestiges of a democratic regime. His enemies knew they could not defeat Mr Zeylala at the ballot box so this power grab is a last grasp. Anyway I am just glad to see the left of Latin America take a united stand.
